Deann Felix
Deann Felix has been a proud "Band Parent" and TJ Band Patron member for a total of five years: from 2013 to 2017, when her son, Eric, was a TJ Band member, and this past year, as her son Aaron is a freshman trumpeteer. As a lifelong musician herself, she values and is dedicated to supporting the music and performing arts programs at TJ High School. During her years as a band patron, she has volunteered in several capacities at five TJ Band Festivals, helped during band camps, chaperoned, co-chaired the 2017 Senior Band Camp festivities, chaired the band photos from 2014-2017, and this past year helped at the Senior Rec Night, Band Festival, worked Aramark events, chaired the hoagie fundraiser and cheered for the band at many of their half-time shows as well as other performances.
As a candidate for the Vice President position, Deann hopes to engage with all members to provide a welcoming, supportive, and thriving band patron organization. "As I have witnessed with my son Eric, the TJ Band program provides disciplines and life lessons in teamwork, dedication, and commitment, as well as forming loyal friendships that last well beyond graduation day. I look forward to devoting my time to helping the TJ Band Patrons continue to excel while supporting the students and directors. WE ARE TJ!
Hi! I’m Christina Withers, and I’ve been part of the TJHS Marching Band family for 6 years now—with 3 more to go! All three of my kids have been (or still are!) Jaguars: Ryan (Class of 2024), Austin (Class of 2025), and Emma (currently rocking 9th grade).
Over the years, I’ve jumped in wherever help was needed—chaperoning football games, serving as a visiting band coordinator at festivals, helping with candy grams, helping coordinate Week 2 band camp lunches (which was a blast!), handing out lunches to hungry kids, hanging with awesome band parents, and helping to make sure snacks were ready to go for football games.
The TJHS Band Patrons are truly something special. Thanks to the amazing parents involved, it runs like a well-oiled machine—and I’d love to help keep it that way. If I’m lucky enough to serve as VP, my goal is simple: support the band, the patrons, and the directors, and most importantly, help make sure our kids have the best marching band season possible.
At the end of the day, it’s all about fun, memories, and a great season for our kids. Let’s go Jags!!
