Fundraisers - Steelers Football

2011—2012

Training & Game Day Information

If you are interested in taking over this fundraiser contact Jim Grassi grassjm@hotmail.com or Jean Crane at cranejl3@hotmail.com .  You must have current TEAM and ServSafe training.

General Information

Aramark is the food service provider of the Pittsburgh Steelers at Heinz Field.  TJ Band Patrons provide Aramark with at least 14 concession stand workers per home Steelers game at Heinz Field; anyone can work the games provided they have received the necessary training, and they must be at least 18 years old. We run a concession stand plus additional beer booths, depending on the number of participants.  For each game a participant works, they earn a share of the total profit for the season.  At the end of the season, the total profit is divided by the total shares worked.  The amount deposited into the student’s goal setting account is the share value x the number of shares.  The value of a share varies from year to year, as it’s based upon the amount of profit earned, and can range from around $85 to $100 dollars per share.

Training Information

Training Requirements

Training is only valid for a specified period of time; training must be repeated as necessary in order to continue to participate in this fundraiser.  At this time, TEAM and SafeServ training are both required in order to work regular season games.

· TEAM alcohol training is valid for THREE years, all volunteers must be trained, class approx. 11/2—2 hours in length.

· SafeServe food training is valid for ONE season, class is approx. 1 hour in length.

· Be  The Difference training is valid for ONE season, class is approx. 1 hour in length.

Heinz Field - Parking & Entrance

Participants will most likely be able to park in Green Lot 21 which is located on Reedsdale Avenue. If this lot is full, then parking can be found in the lots surrounding Heinz Field; there may be a fee.

Participants must enter the facility through Gate C, which is the game day entrance for fans. If the gate is not open, there is a buzzer that, once pushed, will alert security that someone is there. Upon entering Heinz Field there will be someone or directions to the training location.

Late arrivals to training may not be admitted.

Aramark has set up the following training classes at Heinz Field.  All dates will include “Be the Difference”, “Serv Safe”, and “TEAM”.  “TEAM” training will be conducted last so if your “TEAM” does not expire in 2012 you may go home at that point.  Please expect to stay for 3-4 hours.  All classes will be capped at 125 people.  As each date approaches Aramark will send out an email for where in the stadium the training will be located and where to park. If you are interested in participating in this GSA by working the Steelers Games during the 2012 Season please contact Jim Grassi and Jean Crane with a couple dates that you are able to attend and they will reach out to Aramark to see if space is still available.

Game Day Information

On game day, workers meet at a designated location (PHMS, Pleasant Hills Presbyterian Church, etc.), about 5 hours prior to kickoff, and carpool to Heinz Field.  Parking fees are paid for by the fundraiser, so no individual pays for parking unless they choose to travel on their own.  Return time is about 2-3 hours after the end of the game.  Khaki pants and closed-toe shoes are required; a hat and shirt (warm days) or windbreaker-like jacket (cold days) are provided.  Dress for the weather; you will be working outside the entire time!
